2010 San Antonio Vacation: Day Three

Zoo Day Today!!

1st in our sights were those big, cuddly bears... glad we are at a distance. These guys were huge!!

Hailey and Mommy were definitely all eyes!

Next, we all headed into the aquarium.

The ridiculously huge alligator snapping turtles were mommy and daddy's favorites.

Monkeys!

We had impecable timing with regard to the smaller, alligator-like creatures... feeding time!!

The big cats were very active... as you can see, we struggled to get a good pic! Regardless, Hailey never missed a glimpse.

The croc was next. Nate was definitely as amazed as we were with the size of the large reptile.

Then, it was break time as we watched the elephants.

The rhinos were equally impressive.

Then we all strolled to the petting zoo where Nate and Daddy had some bonding time with the goats.

Before wrapping up our trip, we did spoil our kiddos... Nate was disappointed as seen below with Hailey making friends with her new toy.

2010 San Antonio Vacation: Day Two

It’s day 2 of our San Antonio/Sea World vacation, and it’s back to Sea World for more fun. As you can see whether it’s just a natural “morning person” type of thing or the sugar from the donuts, the kiddos are in good spirits… no complaints from mom and dad.

We started off the morning taking a gander at the aquarium with all the fish and sharks. There was even a diver in with the smaller fish!

Of course we had to grab a souvenir penny…who doesn’t need mechanically altered currency?

Next, it was off to feed the dolphins. We may not have been swimming with them, but the money was well worth it to get so close to these friendly fish…. I mean mammals.

The next attraction we stumbled upon was THE hit of the day. In fact, the ‘splash ride’ was ridden 8 times by our crew… all 8 times included Nate. That’s right our 3 year old could not get enough of this ride… and the soaking fall from the top of the coaster felt great with the weather still being in the low 80s…

Grammy and Papa even took their turn on the ride… and were dowsed also…as gestured by Papa…

Now it was time to see the REALLY big fish show… and they were amazing…

Of course, after the show our little ones had to pick out a souvenir before exiting the park that evening. Here our littlest one found the perfect one. What an awesome time we had at Sea World!

2010 San Antonio Vacation: Day One

Day One of our 2010 San Antonio vacation: arrive at room and investigate…

Nope…no closet monsters.

Wow Daddy… she’s pretty!

Oh, there you are Daddy!

Next, it was off to find the playground… priorities!!

After getting settled, it was rise and shine as mommy recruited some reinforcements to help wake-up Daddy!

Next it was off to Chick-Fila for some breakfast… which means chicken biscuits and playtime…

Someone’s not happy about having to leave…

Little did the kiddos know that we were heading to Sea World… they had a blast!

We kicked it off with a blast… Nate [and Mommy] loved the ride!

Hailey made sure we didn’t miss a thing…

She was keeping an eye on me!

We then ran across some crocs which grabbed Nate and Daddy’s attention.

After lunch we ran by to watch the sea lions play.

Daddy was then convinced to ride in the mini ferris wheel ride. I think Daddy may have lost something before we rode the ride… he kept mentioning something about losing his man card before we went on the ride…

After a full day at Sea World it was time for some night swimming and smores back at the hotel.

Grammy and Nate did a great job with the smores…

… Daddy on the other hand… well, that’s on fire Daddy, you’re gonna want to blow that one out! Poor Marshmallows!!

Even after a long day… these two don’t mind posing for the camera before baths and bedtime… what a crew we have!!

Today we headed to Grandma Sally and Granddad Tom’s for a 3-in-1 celebration (Hailey, Mommy and Daddy’s b-days) since we don’t get to see them as much as we’d would like.

Hailey is one year old, and we cannot believe it! We started early that day with balloons in her crib to wake her up… not sure what she thought of it…

Next, Mommy and Grammy met-up and took the kiddos to that inescapable mecca whose tractor beam no parent can escape… a.k.a. Chick-Fil-A. I think they really enjoyed it!

July 3rd… what a day!

Our July 3rd was just as exciting as our July 4th, full of family and fireworks. We had such a great time. First, we started the day at Grandpa and Grandma’s place.We had to make sure we said hi to Granny first and foremost…she’s the best!

Then Hailey walked over to Granny, and it was nothing but girl talk…

Next, Granny showed her grabber-do-hickey thing to Nate… let’s just say it was difficult to eventually pry it away from him…

Grandma Sally and Grandpa Tom even showed-up… that’s two grandpa’s and two grandma’s in case you lost count.

Then, it was time for the legendary staring contest… not sure who won that one… tough competitors.

Of course Hailey had to get her girl talk in with Aunt Kelley when she showed-up later.

Before we headed home to get naps, dinner and prepare for fireworks, we stopped in and got Nate a haircut… like it? Not sure he did… of course as long as he gets that lollipop, he doesn’t care!

Georgia in June!

Today Georgia and her mommy and daddy came to visit, and we all had a blast! Daddy fired-up the grill and we all chowed-down. Then we all headed outside to the park…

Granny Visit... Part II

The Wolfe Pack dropped in on Granny at her new destination of the rehab facility. Though she was there for only about a week, we had to check-up on her. As you can see below, she was quite glad we did. We also got to see Grandpa Dan & Grandma Alta.

Today the Wolfe Pack just chilled in the backyard... literally. Though it was a rather warm day, let's just say the water coming out of the hose is still a bit chilly at around 11:30am---yes, we found this out the hard way. But you do get used to the water after a while.

Today we went to see our great-Granny in the hospital. She had a bit of a boo-boo when she fell down. Mommy and Daddy thought we did really well when we were there. Grandpa also loved seeing us there to help great-Granny feel better.

Go ahead and tell me that seeing this little cutie-pie wouldn't cheer you up... cause I wouldn't believe you!

When we arrived, Ms. Hailey wasted no time making her self known to those in the room. Here she is getting acquainted with Grandpa.

Today we met some friends at our church to do some serious egg-hunting. As you can see, it wasn't necessarily all work and no play! Nate met one of his best buddies at the church to do some egg hunting together.

It sure has been a snowy winter... and the Wolfe pack took full advantage on this 11th day of Feb. The news cast said we received over 6 inches of snow that day...

As in the other two Christmases, there was tons food and fun, with emphasis on the fun. Daddy decided to include shots from all the action... which in most families involves none other than the opening of the presents...

Christmas 2009... Part II

After a great Christmas at the Wolfe crib, the next day it was off to Grandpa Wolfe's. We had a great time there with food, fun, and best of all presents!! When we got there we just had to go find our great-Granny and say hello...

After big brother wondered off, it was all girl talk...

After dinner, it was time to get into the presents... one guess who was the first one at it...
...And the first to test-drive his presents...

Then sister stole the show with her new "bling" as mommy put it.

Then it was time for some cameo shots before we headed out.

Big Brother was literally kissing up before we left.And sister, well... one guess... a perfect end to a perfect night!!

Christmas 2009... Part I

Here's the first of 4 Christmases to be chronicled. We had quite the celebration. The first Christmas started on Christmas morning at our place. Grammy and Papa joined us to witness all the excitement. Good times!

So just how nuts does Nate think Mommy is...

Nothing gets past Nate... he remembered there were milk and cookies sitting out.

Seriously Daddy... where'd they go?

Tell me this baby girls isn't ready to get rippin' through some presents!

First, we started with the stockings...

Then it was on to the presents... we don't spoil our kids or anything.... these are just Nate's gifts and don't include the ones Santa got for him... yikes, I think mommy and daddy got carried away!

Nate was a natural at ripping right through the presents...SHOCKER!!

Later that evening, we all gathered in thanks and in remembrance of the real reason for Christmas... Praise to Him!

Christmas Eve 2009

It’s Christmas Eve, and it was a very busy day. As you will see we had tons of fun preparing for the big day tomorrow.

First, we had to ensure Santa’s cookies were all decorated and ready for the big guy later this night. Of course, I just saw cookies which I was planning to eat. Thankfully, Mommy & Daddy let me have a few.

Needless to say, this was my cookie… for some crazy reason, Mommy and Daddy thought it didn’t cut the mustard for Santa…

Next, Daddy and I went out and played in the snow. I must have been playing my cards right that day b/c Daddy even let me play a little in the sandbox. How lucky can a guy get?

After coming inside, Daddy had to spend a little time with sister and mommy caught a surprise pic of them both…

As it neared bedtime, to my surprise, mommy and daddy let sister and I open a present! I couldn’t believe it!!

PAJAMAS! Hey, I think this was rigged!!

Finally, before we ended the night, we set-out the milk and cookies for Santa… again, I had no clue what we were doing. Let’s just say I had a difficult time letting those cookies and milk go to waste just sitting there. Mommy and Daddy noted that the next morning, the first thing I noticed after coming down the stairs was the missing milk and cookies. Yep, nothing gets past this toddler!! Next year, I’ll have to tell baby sis all about the disappearing milk and cookies.

Trains '09

It’s that time again. Time to go to see the greatness of the North Park Train visit. The best part being the admission fee benefiting charity… of course, seeing the looks on the kiddos’ faces is a pretty great reward too!

Nate was crowned shortly after entering the exhibit and surprisingly kept his engineer’s cap on throughout most of the tour.

Daddy and Papa had took turns in showing Nate those trains above his eye level… which was about 90% of the exhibit… let’s just say Nate can get quite heavy after a while.

Mommy certainly shouldered her share of the burden… though a bit lighter.

SANTA VISIT '09

Our Santa '09 visit went surprisingly well with both Wolfe pups doing their best to stay focused with neither one pitching a fit. The odds are certainly against you with a 5 month old and 2 & 1/2 year old. Of course, that shouldn't surprise us... we've been blessed with very easy-going kids... most of the time!

We got some good shots while waiting in line. Here are a few of Mommy & Hailey having fun.

THANKSGIVING '09

HAPPY TURKEY DAY!
Thanksgiving is so great, who can have just one, right? SO… we had two!!
First, the Wolfe pack headed over to the cousins’ crib up in McKinney, where as you can see, they are never at a loss for finding fun!

It’s easy to see the Wolfe kids know how to make the rounds to make sure their presence is known! We always have a great time at the cousins’ place!!

Our 2nd Thanksgiving was at our place with Daddy’s side of the family. There was no shortage of fun at this shindig either!
Mommy has everything ready to go!

Great-Granny, Grandma Sally, Grandpa Tom & Dan, all take their turns visiting the littlest Wolfe pup.

…And there’s no doubt why that is… who can resist…

Meanwhile, Uncle Craig and Nate where upstairs rough-housing… and this is no joke. This pic was taken seconds before the glass in the picture was shattered to pieces! Note to self: only plastic cups upstairs from this point forward!

Aunt Kelley and Mike brought their little, furry one, Cooper, over to visit, and Nate loved every minute of it.

HALLOWEEN '09

Our Halloween pics this year consist of a stop by the Fall Festival our church was throwing, a few days before Halloween, which had food, fun, friends, a petting zoo and bounce houses... gotta have the bounce houses. Then on Halloween night we made a few stops by the grandparents' homes.
Here's big brother... our astronaut hero! Yep... that is the cap that came with his costume... not exactly sure what is up with the ginormous bill on the cap. As you can see though, it did not affect Nate in the least.

And little sister stole the show with her bunny outfit... a shocker, right?
After grabbing a bite, wondering around the different booths, Nate found one he liked... again a big shocker.
Next, it was on to the bounce houses... let's just say time to leave for the evening was not enjoyable... Nate has found his true love!

And baby sis is doing what she does best...
We just had to show-off our little trick-or-treaters to the grandparents, so we made a couple stops... as you can see, the grandparents all approved!!

Children's Museum Visit

Now that the weather is cooling down, it was time to head to the fair grounds... more specifically to the Children's Museum. As you can see from below Nate did not find it difficult to amuse himself. We think he had enough activity in this one day to last several lifetimes!

We started off with Mommy showing Nate all the snakes and reptiles.

Transition to baby sister... as always... acting like a little angel...

One thing's for sure, we didn't have to show Nate where the sand was! In fact, Nate made it look so fun, Daddy had to join in...

Ah yes... another life lesson, son... sand in the face is not pleasant!

Next we were off to what I like to call the 'activity room' that had tumbling mats, toys, climbing grips on the wall and an elaborate 'gopher maze' in the center of the room. Nate shows off a few of his favorites...

This had to be one of Nate's favorite portions of the visit... let's just say Nate is at one with water.

Indoor slides... a mark of a proper museum...

Now this has gotta be the hardest one can think at two years old...

One thing's for sure... Nate did not get his PC skills from his father!

Perhaps Nate was a little farmer in a past life...? Milking this cow seemed to come natural...

Pumpkin Patch '09

Before all the Halloween extravaganza begins next weekend,
the Wolfe Pack had to head to Owens Farm to check out all the pumpkins. In addition to a pumpkin patch our selected venue also had animals to feed, barrel rides, hayrides and hotdogs, so what's not to like? Nate even invited one of his best buddies, Keller to come along.

We had to snap these pictures quick because both Nate and Keller
were always on the move!!

We even got one of Hailey with all the pumpkins.
Speaking of pumpkins, the pumpkin patch was our first stop, as you can see from below, the boys went right at it, calling dibbs on the best pumpkins on the lot.
Nate was such a good boy, he volunteered to pose with his sister... and snuck in a kiss.

Daddy also made a cameo with both Wolfe pups...

Then, Nate found his perfect pumpkin.

Next, it was off to the animals. Nate was not sure what to think about those goats.
Now that's one BIIIIIG HORSEY!
You don't necessarily want to get too close to these guys but they were fun to watch.

BARRELL RIDE TIME!!!
Both Keller and Nate loved the barrel ride, and just about all the little riders were given these "neat" little noise makers of about 100 decibel rating.

Apparently there are 2 sizes of barrels that parents and kiddos can populate. Wouldn't you know it Daddy and Nate crammed into one of the smaller barrels and yup, there was mommy to capture that Kodak moment.

Here's Nate and Daddy... and there's that neat little noise maker! Let's just say when the ride ended, Nate made it known (to everyone within 250 feet) the noise maker was his... or so he thought. Good times.

Hailey's Dedication

Well today is a great day where mommy and daddy put together a celebration as they dedicate themselves to raising me (and big brother) in a home filled with God’s love. In this particular pic I am getting a quick power nap in on the way to church… it’s gonna be a big day!

Murphy Maize Days

Murphy Maize Days is upon us. It is a great little festival like gathering of food, fun and best of all bonce houses that our city throws each year. The below picture captures mommy, Hailey (in the sling) and me (daddy being behind the camera) on our way being shuttled over to the action. No, a semi tractor trailer is not about to meet us head-on. It was my 1st bus ride, and I was just a little curious... though I do see how it might be interpreted as unbridled terror.

Umm... not sure who the two goofball, corn-heads are... but they sure do look silly!
What better way to begin the festivities than with a pony ride? Oh and yeah, I may look a bit out of it below because I was still recovering from the gallon of sun screen that wound-up in my eyes. Note to self: the next time daddy whips out the sunblock and starts furiously applying it... close eyes!!!

Build-A-Bear & Carrousel Outing

Time to head to the mall for some fun! Nate was over-due for a Build-A-Bear trip to make him a new buddy... and to show his little sis how it's done. Not sure about you, but these two kiddos appear to be anxious to get going!
Decisions! Decisions! Thankfully Mommy was there to help me choose the perfect critter for me upon entering the magical workshop.

A stuffing good time... Nate figured out real quick how to work the 'stuffing pedal'. In fact the helper lady had to work extremely fast due to the expeditious nature of Mr. Nate. He was all about stomping the stuffing out of that pedal!!

Have a Heart! Nate loved his new puppy so much he grabbed TWO hearts to give to the helper lady to put inside Nate's new buddy.

With Mommy's help, Nate demonstrates some brushing & fluffing TLC for his newly minted puppy.

Naming time... here Mommy & Nate are hard at work naming the bear... I mean dog. We chose Raider...

Grandma Sally & Grandpa Tom Visit

Unfortunately Grandma Sally and Grandpa Tom were out of town when little Hailey was born, so they got to be one of Hailey’s 1st visitors in her home.

Special Day for Big Bro

We decided to give big brother a little special treatment due to his new sister recently grabbing all the attention. He seemed not to mind too much…
We first thought he should give a little sugar to the reason for his gifts!

Next it was bring on the gifts!
Surprise! Two brand, new, big-boy cups with Elmo and Mickey Mouse on them… of which Nate definitely approved!

The next gift was a huge hit… a wooden, magnetic car puzzle! Nate loved it!! Thanks Steinman Family!

The next gift was a neat bath toy… thanks Grandma Sally and Grandpa Tom!

Nate was so appreciative and happy for the gifts he received… he even hammed it up for the camera…

Hailey Jade Wolfe is here!!

At 1:20pm on Wed, 7/22 Hailey Jade Wolfe decided to enter the world, so we chose to celebrate in style with a sugar overdose…

The day started early w/Kim’s water breaking at 5:30am… luckily she caught daddy before he was about to board the train for work, so he headed back home. After getting things together for the hospital, we headed-out around 6:45am
What a hard worker… even while waiting for Hailey to arrive mommy is sending out last minute work e-mails!!!

At 10:45am the epidural was given, and about 2.5 hours later, mommy pushed hard several times, making it look easy, and in about 10min, heeeeeeeere’s Hailey!!

Within the past month or so Mommy and Daddy discovered that I am a popcorn addict. They like those small 100 calorie bags... too bad they only end up getting a handful... one guess where the rest goes... yeah, yeah I know choking hazard... trust me, the popcorn isn't in this tot's mouth for long. Plus, mommy and daddy are always good about watching me (and laughing) while I gobble it down!!

Fun While Shopping for Baby Sis

Though Daddy and I gave in to mommy’s need to scavenge for baby sis’s furniture… we still managed to have fun. Below Daddy showed me a big puppy that I took a liking to… and was not happy when it was taken away (not pictured). While doing yet more shopping for baby sis, I found some excitement… a kitchen with cabinets to slam. Please ignore the not-so-manly color scheme of the kitchen… not my preference.

I even helped Mommy and Daddy navigate through the store!!
Our 2nd stop even had outside play-sets… let’s just say I’m a persuasive little booger!!
